IPL Facials
Intense Pulsed Light (IPL) Therapy is an effective treatment to correct many hard to treat skin conditions and concerns. This advanced light treatment can help to treat rosacea, acne, thread veins, spider veins, uneven pigmentation, sun spots and many common signs of ageing.

As IPL can provide an incredibly targeted treatment, it is one Skiin's most popular treatments!
IPL uses a range of light wavelengths that penetrate deep into the skin’s tissue to correct, stimulate and heal the skin. IPL the only treatment that is extremely effective on Rosacea and facial redness.
Light is pulsed through the skin’s surface, targeting the desired area in the underlying tissue, helping to reduce redness at a deeper level. Blood vessel walls are actually transparent! Therefor IPL treatments depend on the absorption by blood cells flowing through the vessel.
During the treatment the hemogobin in our blood absorbs the IPL and laser which is converted into heat. As the heat flows outwards it coagulates the blood vessel walls to seal and heal the vein resulting in no visible thread veins or redness. For deeper more vascular visible broken blood vessels and capillaries I recommend combining IPL with a Laser treatment to ensure every vessel can be targeted and treated.
The skin may appear more red after the treatment due to the heating effect in the skin however this subsides over the a couple of hours. Thread Veins may appear darker for 2-3 days post treatment before they begin to lighten and disperse.
I recommend a treatment course of 3-10 treatments every 3-6 weeks depending on skin health and severity of the broken vessels.
All new clients required a consultation and patch test 48 hours before treatment can commence, during the consultation also discuss home skin can as this plays a vital role in and aid in healing the skin.
Active Acne Infection Therapy Therapy
The wavelength of blue light has an antimicrobial effect, triggering biochemical response and creating oxygen in the skin that kills the Propionibacterium (the spot causing bacteria) within each pore. This treatment is amazing for active acne however not Acne scaring for which I recommend rejuvenating microneedling. IPL is the ideal treatment for deep cystic acne as IPL works deep in the skin to treat and heal.
I recommend a treatment course of 3-6 treatments every 3-6 weeks depending on skin health.
Pigmented Lesions Treatment – Freckles and Ages Spots
IPL is an effective way to treat freckles and areas of pigmentation. Light energy is more efficiently absorbed by darker areas of pigment in the skin and breaks down the excess melanin that forms the basis of each freckle.
It is broken down and naturally taken away by the body’s immune system. Adjacent areas of skin that do not contain excess melanin remain unaffected meaning all the face, neck or chest can be treated.
The areas of pigmentation may scab after the treatment as the pigment is lifted out of the skin revealing a smooth even skin complexion.
This treatment is ideal for large areas of pigment i.e freckles whereas Laser Treatment is advise for one off areas of pigmentation.
As pigmentation is very difficult to treat I advise slow and steady approach to treatment once a advised skin care plan selected for each client to help treat and suppress unwanted pigment.
I recommend a treatment plan of 4-8 treatments every 4-6 weeks.
Skin Rejuvenation
IPL Skin Rejuvenation is the ideal treatment for ageing skin, it treats fine lines and wrinkles, sun damage, light pigment blemishes and gives the skin an over all glowing appearance, with no visible signs on the skin that a treatment has been done.
The wavelength of the light targets the fibroblast cells within the skin leading to improved collagen production and remodelling. The production of collagen, a natural protein that gives the skin its plump youthful appearance, helps to soften lines and wrinkles whilst working to prevent future signs of ageing.
As it targets multiple concerns it Improves overall texture and appearance making the skin brighter, lighter and tighter.
Please be aware every IPL new client needs a patch test 48 hour prior to their appointment, for mixed race and asian skin types please allow 2 weeks.
I recommend need a treatment course of 3-6 treatments every 2-4 weeks.

Each treatment is around 35 minutes depending which area of the body you are treating.

All IPL Treatments can be done pretty much anywhere on the body with the most popular areas being the face, back, neck and hands.
