LED Light Therapy Treatments
While we often associate light exposure with negative effects such as sun damage induced wrinkles and age-spots, “light” also has many positive influences on the body. LED (Light Emitting Diode) uses different specific wave lengths of LED light to vastly improve cellar growth and repair. Discovered by NASA, LED was originally used to speed up plant growth until it was discovered to heal and rejuvenate astronauts’ wounds and skin conditions much faster. The mask is ergonomically designed to be adjusted by face size with wing-type shape, and has a detachable neck panel for neck treatments. To find out more about each of the modes see the colours below.
As SKIIN offers a wide range of skin health treatments I advise a consultation prior to treatment in which your skin can be assed in order to select the correct treatment plan for you, LED can be be done as a stand alone treatment session or can be added on to any other skin treatment for the current addon rate found below.
How LED Light Therapy Works
Red LED Light Therapy
The red mode reaches the very bottom of skin (the dermis) where vital skin functions take place, to help improve the appearance of lines and wrinkles by boosting the production of collagen and elastin. Both are proteins great for firming and toning the skin. On top of that, Collagen also helps to support the function of wound healing. Due to the increased production of collagen, the red setting will help improve sun damage and reduce the downtime after, Plasma Skin Tightening, Laser, Micro Needling and Chemical Peel treatments.
The wavelength of the red LED lights reduces redness, blemishes, scarring, raised moles, while spots, freckles age spots and pigmentations. The red mode corrects and brightens the skin giving the skin a natural glowing appearance.
Blue LED Light Therapy
The blue setting reaches the epidermis. It is a great choice for patients with inflammatory skin problems like acne to calm their skin. The blue light promotes and anti-microbial effect and prohibits the generation of acne bacteria.
It also reduces redness while calming inflammations. The blue light can stabilise the glands responsible for secreting sebum, the oily substance which covers human hair and skin. An overproduction of sebum can we reduced and balanced with the blue mode.
Pink LED Light Therapy
The pink setting combines red and blue light with pink LED this adds another wavelength meaning that each section of skin is treated and healed. The pink light stimulates the production of mitochondria and ATP within the cells. The result is newly produced and longer living anti-aging enzymes.
By combining all three different LED lights and wavelengths the near infrared rays penetrate the skin and reach through all three layers (epidermis, dermis and hypodermis) of the skin and can therefore target all skin cells.
