Laser Tattoo Removal - SKIIN®

Laser Tattoo Removal Treatments

My Q switched laser if effective for removing any unwanted tattoos and permanent make up.

This advanced technology works by allowing the laser to pass through the skin and break up the tattoo ink into tiny particles. The laser fragments the ink particles without causing damage to the skin, then through your body’s natural healing processes the macrophages of the immune system engulf the particles removing the ink fragments from your body. This allows your tattoo to fade with only minimal risks of scarring or skin discolouration.

Laser Tattoo Removal FAQ's & Advice

Laser sessions are very fast and the majority of my clients say that it’s nowhere near as bad as they thought it was going to be. After a skin test has been completed, a topical numbing cream can be applied to the skin 45 minutes before the treatment to ensure client comfort with the client expecting to experience a heat sensation on the skin.

Black and all colours expect white, green and pink can be removed due to poor absorption. For cover ups if green ink has been mixed it may fade to a yellow however if the pigment is pure green it will not work, however the plasma treatment can be used to remove these colours.

It usually takes between 8-10 sessions to ensure success depending on the tattoo size and colour, with minimum 6-week intervals between sessions. If you are looking to have a tattoo faded for a cover up then it is on average 5-6 sessions.

Your skin will most likely be red and feel like it has mild sunburn. This typically subsides after a few hours. There may also be some and mild blistering. It is normal for scabs to form during the healing process but important not to pick or peel any skin. After each treatment you will be given detailed aftercare advice on how to look after the treated area while it heals.

The size of your palm can be removed at any one time to enable the immune system not be over stretched and remove all the particles efficiently, however on a large piece a palm size can be treated every 2 weeks for quicker progression.
